Windward Instruments Business Policies The Windward Store is owned and operated by Windward Instruments. Use of this site forms the agreement that you understand and agree to be bound by these policies. Any remedy or action is limited to the court, and jurisdiction, of the point of sale (Starke County, Indiana) only. We would like to Thank our customers for making 2008 a great year. The following information is provided based on the best information we have from our manufacturers and carriers. Windward Store will ship orders as quickly as possible, however, delays may occur during the holiday shipping season. We recommend ordering holiday gifts as early as possible to avoid delays or out of stock conditions. These estimates are based on information from manufacturers and carriers. Email is preferred & recommended for a quicker reply. Holiday Ordering: We recommend placing your order online whenever possible to expedite the ordering process. Our toll free customer service line is always available, however, will likely become congested during the holidays. Holiday Customer Support: Due to congestion during the holiday shopping season, we strongly recommend email as the preferred method of support. We further recommend that all callers to our support line leave email address information for response. General Recommendation for Christmas delivery: For standard delivery of most products, we recommend ordering by December 12, 2008 for possible delivery by Christmas. Product specific recommendations: Chelsea Clock Products: - Ship's Bell Clocks, Shipstrike Clocks, Nautical Clocks (non-striking) - 4 weeks. We recommend ordering by 11/10/08 for possible arrival by Christmas. - Chelsea Timemaster (Navy Clocks) - 6-8 weeks. We recommend ordering by 10/25/08 for possible arrival by Christmas. - Chelsea Mariner, Pilot, and all other Collector Clocks - 4-8 weeks. We recommend ordering by 10/25/08 for possible arrival by Christmas. Ocean Clocks Products: Standard Air Shipment: 10-15 business days (business days are Mon.- Fri.) for standard delivery. We recommend ordering by 11/30/08 for possible arrival by Christmas via standard air shipment. Expedited Air Shipment: 5-10 business days (business days are Mon.- Fri.) for expedited delivery. We recommend ordering by 12/7/08 for possible arrival by Christmas via expedited air shipment. Expedited shipment charge is an additional $70.00 per instrument. Windward Instruments does not require registration to browse our products, contact us, or to place an order at The Windward Store. We have physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in place to safeguard your information. All customer information is treated as confidential. Windward Instruments does not participate in bulk email solicitations, phone banks, or third party advertisement schemes. Your information is private, and will not be sold to a third party. Use of Information Online Security and Check Out SHIPPING All customers receive FREE standard or ground shipping. The Windward Store determines the carrier used for each order based upon best cost/service available at the time of shipment. APO/FPO/PUERTO RICO/AK/HI ship via USPS only. No delivery estimate or guarantee is made on any shipment to a military address. If you require exepedited shipping, please contact us for a quote. RETURNED SHIPMENTS: Customer is responsible for all additional shipping and handling charges on returned packages, including return shipping to us, and re-shipment. These charges must be paid in full prior to re-shipment. If original shipment was to a third party, we reserve the right to restrict re-shipments to customer billing address. Upon notification of returned shipment and shipping charges due, payment should be made within 10 days. Windward Instruments is not responsible for the condition of returned shipments, and will not assume any liability. PAYMENT AVAILABILITY RETURN POLICY Return Authorization is required for all returns. Any documentation included with your item from the manufacturer dealing with returns is ONLY applicable to purchases made directly from the manufacturer. Windward Instruments (Windward Store) return policy supercedes any such documentation as prevailing policy. TERMS: Return shipping charges are customer responsibility. Original shipping charges and an 18% restocking fee (if applicable) will be deducted from your refund. Our descretionary restocking fee is 25% - 50% and may be applied to order returns on excluded items which we agree to accept. Such returns and fee assessment is at our determination. Refunds are issued by credit transaction back to the credit card used for purchase, or company draft at our discretion. Refunds are normally completed in 3-7 business days, however, please allow up to 30 days for processing. EXCLUSIONS: The following items are covered by warranty for defect, but are not returnable for refund or credit: (1) Customized, directly engraved, or personalized items (including re-sized). (2) Ocean Clocks products (3) Tidemaster Order cancellation made prior to payment processing will be handled without charge. All other order cancellations are subject to a 5% processing fee, plus our discetionary restocking fee stated in our return policy above.
