Core Guggulipid Blend contains the Ayurvedic herb Guggul Gum and Chinese herb Kudzu. Guggul Gum has been used traditionally, and shown in government clinical trials, to lower elevated lipid levels. This combined with Kudzu, known traditionally to increase blood flow and open heart vessels, thereby improving the body’s flow of blood and oxygen, serves as a potent blend to clear imbalances within the detoxification channels and circulation. Guggul Gum is one of the most valued herbs in Ayurvedic medicine. It has been used for over 2,000 years for a variety of conditions including rheumatoid arthritis and lipid imbalances. It was granted approval in India for marketing as a lipid-reducing drug in June 1986. Studies in both animal models and humans suggest that this resin can decrease elevated lipid levels; increase white blood cell count and disinfect secretions including mucus, sweat and urine; clear the lungs, and help heal the skin and mucous membranes. Kudzu’s traditional uses in Chinese medicine date back to 100 A.D. Daidzen and daidzin are compounds found in Kudzu, and studies have shown that these compounds block enzymes that metabolize alcohol, thus curbing the craving for alcohol. Additionally, an isoflavone compound, puerarin, helps explain many of Kudzu’s traditional uses such as balancing blood pressure and blood sugar while increasing coronary and cerebral blood flow.
