Navajo potter, Johnny Williams is from the First Bitter Water People out of Lyanbito NM. He learned his rather distinctive craft from his grandmother at age 7. His etching, glazing, and painting create marvelous pieces. This bear would make a wonderful addition to your display cabinet or desk. It measures 5-1/2" long, 3-1/2" tall, and 2" wide. It is a beauty. Johnny has 'signed' the bottom of the bear "JW".
THE BEAR STORY: Many Native American Tribes honored the spirit of the bear as a magical being, the Shaman of the animal world. The Bear is considered a totem for healing, protection and good fortune.
