The Navajo Artist, Sharon Cisco--well known for her overlay expertise-- has stamped "SC" and "Sterling" into the back of the watch tips on this magnificent ladies watch. She has fashioned an incredible work of art in the sterling silver watch tips. The tips have a hand cut-out bear claw design overlay on the sterling silver. The watch tips create a deep shadow box look around the bear claw design. The watch tips are 1-1/4" long and 3/4" wide at their widest. They are attached to an adjustable stretch band and a Selectime Quartz watch with an opalized white face and black numbers--easy to read.  The watch face compliments the watch tips and does not detract.  The watch is approximately 1" in diameter.

Overlay is created by sweating, or soldering, two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured to produce a contrasting background. It is then carefully filed, buffed and polished to product a fine finished product.

THE BEAR STORY: Many Native American Tribes honored the spirit of the bear as a magical being, the Shaman of the animal world. The Bear is considered a totem for healing, protection and good fortune.
