Silversmith and craftsman, Navajo, Kee Brown, has crafted a most unusual and striking cuff bracelet of coral and sterling silver overlay. Kee has stamped the inside of the bracelet with his signature matching K's--back to back--and 'sterling' in script. This bracelet really makes you feel special. Kee has a beautiful chunk of Mediterranean branch coral set in a unique sterling silver cuff bracelet. He has 'stamped' designs on the cuff--AND used the overlay technique to add more decorations and definition to the bracelet. He has incorporated some 'Maze' designs and some mountain designs. What a wonderful piece of art! Overlay is a technique where a pattern is cut out of a sheet of silver or other metal (sterling silver in this case), much like a stencil. The metal with the pattern cut out is soldered on to another piece of metal (again, sterling silver). In this case, the piece is oxidized until it goes dark or black. With polishing, the raised areas of the piece become brilliantly shined and the silver in the recessed area stays dark. This provides the contrast and depth in design so unique to overlay work. Item # B-56. List price $ 300.00 Check out our website/store for other coral and overlay items!
