Sterling silver, on split chain.
Irish poets and seers from centuries past wore cloaks of bird feathers. The beautiful winged pattern of this piece gives remembrance to the shamans of ancient days who could journey in spirit flight to the lands of the Otherworld.
For the Celts, certain birds are associated with particular characters of myth and legend. One of the most important is Iolair, the eagle, whose ancient name is Antar. The eagle is associated with chieftainship.
This lovely piece is created of highly polished sterling silver, and comes set on a split figaro chain.
Measurements: Please note image is not to scale. The pendant is 1 3/4" wide, and is just under 1" long (4.5cm x 2.5cm). The split chain gives this necklace an overall length of 17".
