Vintage original "Photoplay Edition" book from the classic silent film drama directed by William A. Wellman (who directed the hugely successful Wings, the first recipient of the Academy's "Best Picture" Oscar, the previous year). This popular story revolving around World War I stars Gary Cooper and Fay Wray and was based on a photoplay by John Monk Saunders. This hardback Photoplay Edition was novelized by Eustace H. Ball and published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York, in 1928. The book is in good condition and includes the original dust jacket, which has a 1 in. tear on the bottom of the spine, signs of wear along the top and bottom of the spine as well as along the edges of the jacket. The colors are fresh and vibrant and the front cover features beautifully rendered artwork of Gary Cooper and Fay Wray from a dramatic moment in this popular film.
