The film's plot: "Out to win a newspaper reporting contest, teen sleuth Nancy Drew (played by the delightful Bonita Granville) attempts to reveal the facts behind a murder and clear a wrongly imprisoned woman who all, but Nancy, are sure was responsible. Aided by her trusty sidekick Ted (Frankie Thomas Jr.) and two children companions, the trail eventually leads to a shady boxer (Jack Perry) and his equally shady girlfriend (Sheila Bromley) who don't quite share Nancy's enthusiasm for rooting out the truth. This mystery moves at a fast pace and features plenty of suspense peppered with humor and songs." The popular character of Nancy Drew is based on a hugely successful series of books by author Carolyn Keene.
