WHAT A WIDOW! (1930)

WHAT A WIDOW! (1930)

SKU: P-WHATAWIDOW-HS

United Artists; 1930; dir: Allan Dwan; cast: Gloria Swanson, Owen Moore, Lew Cody, Margaret Livingston, William Holden. Vintage original U.S. 22 x 28 in. (55.9 x 71.1 cm.) half-sheet poster, unfolded, near fine condition. Directed by Allan Dwan, this was only Swanson's second sound film after her triumphant career in the Silent Era. This beautiful Art Deco-style half-sheet poster features five different images of "Glorious Gloria" wearing her trademark elegant gowns as well as a large shot of co-star Owen Moore. This poster is rolled and has a nickel-sized chip at the upper left corner which has been reattached with a small piece of white tape on the verso; a thin 1.25 in. vertical chip on the center of the left outer border; a 0.5 in. diagonal crease at the lower left corner; several tiny chips on the left portion of the outer white border; and a thin 1.25 in. crease at the center of the right outer border which is somewhat fragile but still intact. The borders have been professionally air-brushed. The colors are rich and vibrant and there is no restoration other than on the outer white borders. This is truly a superb Art Deco poster featuring one of Hollywood's greatest stars: Gloria Swanson.
