Vintage original "Photoplay Edition" book, written by Hubert Dail, published by Grosset & Dunlap (New York), 1928, hardback, dust jacket, near fine condition. Produced in 1928 by Warner Bros., THE SINGING FOOL features Al Jolson, Betty Bronson, Josephine Dunn and David Lee. Consisting of 218 pages, this book is based upon the film and features 7 full-page stills from the movie. The colorful dust jacket artwork features a large portrait shot of Al Jolson and a fellow child actor. The book itself is in very fine condition with no visible flaws. The dust jacket is in excellent condition with a 1.25" scrape on the lower portion of the front cover where the top surface of the paper is missing as well as minor small tears and chips along the top border. There is a 0.25 in. vertical tear on the bottom edge of the front cover and a 1 in. tear on the inside portion of the dust jacket where it folds over the front cover of the book.
