Paramount Pictures; 1929; dir: Dorothy Arzner; cast: Clara Bow, Fredric March, Marceline Day, Jack Oakie. Vintage original 8.75 x 13 in. (22.2 x 33 cm.) U.S. "Dialogue" screenplay written by E. Lloyd Sheldon and dated December 10, 1928, near fine condition. Silent Cinema favorite Clara Bow made her much-feared transition to sound in director Dorothy Arzner's "The Wild Party," which Paramount released in both and silent and "All-Talking" version. This original screenplay indicates "Dialogue" beneath the film's title on the first page. A light rubber stamp in purple ink in the upper right corner of the title page states "FILE COPY -- Return to Script Dept. -- Paramount Studio-Hollywood." Typewritten on onionskin paper, this screenplay consists of 101 pages and includes outer front and back covers printed on a thin blue/gray card stock. Stamped in the upper right corner is "2033 Master File." This original screenplay has two holes in the left margin where the original grommets held it together which have seen been discarded. The condition is near fine with light signs of wear at the corners of both outer covers. The number "P-741" is written in pencil in the upper left corner of the front cover. There is a 1 in. tear and three All of the interior pages are completely intact and in near fine condition. This screenplay is historic in that it represents not only Hollywood's transition from the Silent Cinema to the "All-Talking" film, but the transition of one of the screen's most popular and beloved stars, the legendary "It Girl," Clara Bow.
