REDFISH carving
This wood carving, created without the use of a template or pattern, is as unique as it is stunning. Each tiny scale is hand-drawn, painted first with watercolors and then with pearl acrylics, lending the entire piece a “wet”, iridescent quality. The painted piece is then sealed with six coats of high-gloss marine varnish to protect it against fading or damage over time. A glass eye adds a note of realism. Despite liberal use of color, the natural character of the wood remains. There is a wire located on the back for easy hanging, and the species name, artist signature and date are burned into the wood on the reverse side. A certificate of authenticity is included, as well. This redfish carving measures approximately 10 x 25", and weighs approximately 1.5 lbs. Note that the image shown is only a sample – each piece is created individually as ordered, so no two are alike. Ships directly from the artist.
