Up The Water Spout
SKU: 4032
Steven Williams was born into a family of love, and for the times, affluent. His parents, well educated and prosperous, held out hopes for their children's future. But disaster struck, and Steven, along with his siblings find themselves in a servitude role. They are separated, scattered upon the wind, so to speak. They must use their intellect and their memories of a past life to make it in the world. A life that should have been easy becomes extremely hard. Their struggles remind Steven of the little song he heard as a child, "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider," the one who tried to make it up the water spout despite all the rain that continued to wash it down again. Steven's life takes on a similar challenge, as he struggles against all odds to make it to the top.
Will he find success and will his siblings endure the hardships they are forced to face? As things go from bad to worse, can they continue to believe there will be a day when as the itsy-bitsy spider knows, the sun comes out? Will the rain in their lives go away? Will they ever reach the top of that water spout of happiness and find love and success once again?
A story based in southwest Virginia in the towns of Abingdon and Meadowview, with many trips into eastern Tennessee and section of North Carolina, the reader becomes embroiled in this struggle of survival and heartache.
