Tarzan of The ApesEdgar Rice Burroughs
This is the rare First Canadian Edition with acorn on spine. I am happy to be able to offer this as this is the edition like this I have seen in over 20 years selling books. At any rate, it is scare.
This is a very good copy, as shown, of the rare 1st Canadian edition of this book.
This book has the title page tipped in.
The book was published by McClelland, Goodchild & Steward in 1914 (see the photo of the title page) and has the acorn stamping on the spine, but also the A. C. McClurg Co, imprint on the spine bottom as shown as shown in the photo. A little bit of oxidation to gold imprint on spine, as is usual for "Tarzan" first editions. Probably the McClurg pages were sold to McClelland.
A bit of shelf slant to the book, hinges are not cracked. An uncommon edition of this classic book. The book comes with a FACSIMILE McMcClurg dust jacket.
