A Pair of Bavarian Early 19th Century paintings on silk that were
used in a opera house, each measuring 8 feet by 43"
These two painting are very large and painted on silk. The way to describe these is read the
descriptions under each photo I have taken . There is kind of dark cast to them as they photographed
inside an antique shop which was dark. I used existing light, hence the darkness.
It might take a while for the photos to download, so please be patient !
There are two paintings each framed in gold as shown. If you look at the third photo you can
see how huge these paintings are. A man is standing next to one of them and he is about 5feet
8 inches tall, Towards the end of the photos tried to take decent photos of the scuffing or other
imperfections on them. Over all they are in very good shape, considering how old they are and
how large they are. I was told each kept rolled up for some time, I do know how long.
They antique owner who has many years of experience in dealing with paintings and antiques
said they were from Bavaria and done in the 19th century. The only way to ship the pair
would be by Plycon shipping as are experts in packing and delivering such things. Estimated
cost is about $400. If it is less than this, we will refund you the difference.
The price is for the two paintings
Thank you, John Anthony Miller at Phantom Bookshop in Ventura, California
As you view the photos below, please keep in mind
some photos are dark and have "greenish cast" to them.
I did not use flash in this dark room. Thank you! John Anthony

This is the first painting. An antique table blocks the view of the left corner part of the painting.

This is the second painting, with the same antique table blocking the right part of the painting. The lighting
is poor and hence the painting looks darker than it is.

The size of the paintings can be seen. The man is about 5' 8" tall.

Some detail of the first painting.

Some detail of the second painting.

A little more detail from the second painting. I liked the woman in distance. She
is more detailed than the photo shows.

Some scuffing on the first painting. It is hard to shoot this because of the angle and
lighting.

Creasing shown on the second painting, probably because of being rolled up. Not
that bad.

Some scuffing on the first painting.

Looking up at the first painting showing a bit of rippling and two holes in the upper right of the photo

Looking up, showing a couple spots, possible hole in the upper right. This photo is from the second painting.

This is a photo of the upper right edge and corner of the second painting.
