Francis H. Gearhart woodblock print, double signed
SORRY THIS HAS BEEN SOLD.
Francis H. Gearhart woodblock print, signed.
(Francis H. Gearhart (1869-1958)
A beautiful Francis Gearhart woodblock print of trees and a mountain with a village in the distance.
The print measures 4 inches by 9-3/8 inches.
It has been printed on a heavy rice paper and is signed in pencil at the bottom right "Frances H. Gearhart."
Additionally it has been signed again, about one inch above the signature, by Frances Gearheart (as F. H. Gearheart) in pencil. Please see the enlargement.
This original print has been neatly trimmed around the black borders as shown, with a the white area below for the signature. My thought is that it could be presented easily by an archival framer as a "floated print" on rag board to make a stunning presentation from a major print maker of a very nice print. Or, just mat it in rag board.
Overall the print is in fine condition, no perforation, no holes, no creases. As usual, the ink has gone through the paper occurs in such prints due to the oil. The print is crisp and fresh.

Note: This print has been trimmed to edge of the thick black borders.
