First UK edition of SHE by Sir. H. Rider Haggard.

Signed by Sir H. Rider Haggard on the top of the half title page and across from that page is an inscription by his agent:  "To Miss Paton with very kind regards A. S. W. 24 Jany 1887."

The book is in very good condition with the front and rear hinges repaired. The frontis plates of the sherd of Amenatas are present.  The imprinting on the cover and spine of the book is good. The book is slightly cocked. Small closed tear to the top edge of the spine. Overal a very presentable copy of an extremely desirable book to have signed. Uncommon to acquire signed in the first edition. A cult status book in its own right. This is not a later printing of the book and does NOT have "second printing" etc on the verso of the title page. A TRUE TREASURE OF A BOOK.
