BUDDY EBSEN. Immortal star of screen, stage and television.
Buddy Ebsen is perhaps best-known in modern times for his role as Jed Clampett in the hit TV series The Beverly Hillbillies. Also as roles as Davy Crockett's sidekick George Russel, and as Barnaby Jones, the famous detective.

Here we have yet another size to the multi-faceted genius who was known as Buddy Ebsen. A letter written by 25 war veterans, each reaching out to a star for an autographed photo. Each of these guys was a special person, and as the letter says, most were, apparently, casualities of the Viet-Nam War. What is incredible is that Buddy actually had this letter laminated on a plaque where he hung this for years in his study. If you read this letter and get the gist of it, you again, see yet another in-depth side to a man who was so much more than Jed Clampett on TV. This was a perceptive and sensitive man who had a sensitivity of "military purpose" for each person who served the USA and for the welfare of the country. There is no date on the laminated letter. It measures 11-1/2" by nearly 14 inches and is 1/2 inch thick on board.
I find that celebrity ephemera like this most fascinating as it reveals the psyche of that famous person in relationship to the "common man" or "common woman."
