BUDDY EBSEN. Immortal star of screen, stage and television.
Buddy Ebsen is perhaps best-known in modern times for his role as Jed Clampett in the hit TV series The Beverly Hillbillies. Also as roles as Davy Crockett's sidekick George Russel, and as Barnaby Jones, the famous detective.
This is one of many rare and one of kind Buddy Ebsen items we will be putting up in the future for auction, so please bookmark us.
Here we have a hat, in good condition, with some wear and aging, as shown from the photos. It was used in the filming of UNDER MEXICALI STARS with Buddy in the role of Homer Ogalthorpe with Rex Allen and Dorothy Patrick. It was a Republic Studios feature.
Included are 8 x 10 photos of Buddy wearing the hat: One from UNDER MEXICALI STARS, showing him standing alone (with handwritten notation on the verso of the photo).
Two others showing Buddy with a flute from the film THE GIRL FROM THE GOLDEN WEST with Jeanette McDonald and Nelson Eddy. They both have studio stamps and pasted information on them, as shown. There is one more photo from GIRL FROM THE GOLDEN WEST also, with some of the cast.
In two of the photos there are punched holes that apparently were for presentation use by the studio.
Included is a large newspaper clipping from The Orlando Sunday Sentinel-Star FLORIDA MAGAZINE from May 31, 1953, showing the photo of Buddy standing with this hat.
These are one of kind items, rare, and great items to have from one of the greatest actors and humanitarians the world has ever known.
