A unique framed artwork, featuring an illustration of "The Illustrated Man" : by the illustrated man himself, Ray Bradbury, and put onto ceramic tile and guaranteed to last at least a thousand years, on The Moon, Mars or even Planet Earth.

Celebrating the plays of the world's most beloved living author Framed Illustrated Man tile to commemorate the First Annual Ray Bradbury Theatre Festival.

Here we have a unique item. A ceramic fired tile produced by The California Pottery & Tile Company of California to commemorate this unique event to be held in Ventura, California from October 25-28, 2007. Each tile has been colored by hand and individually fired. This is no some cheaply done tile with a decal but is the real thing which will last for thousands of years.

The quality of this company's tiles is known throughout the world as simply being the best there is, with the fantastic glazes and unique designs.

This piece is one of only a few now done, there will only be 50 fired. The tile is substantial and is backed by wood and has been set into a wooden frame as shown. The tile itself, unframed, measures 8/5" by 12" by 3/8" thick. Each tile will have a label signed by Ray Bradbury affixed to the verso, similar to the one shown here in this photo. The label will have the name of California Pottery & Tile Works on it.

The drawing on the tile is from an original drawing on paper by Ray Bradbury himself, and transposed forever onto ceramic. The inscription is also by Ray Bradbury from an inscription he did on paper and transposed onto ceramic tile.

Eight of these will be given out at the festival to important people and/or world-famous celebrities who have contributed to the event, and this tile is known as "The Bradbury." The monogram in the lower left stands for "California Pottery & Tile Company" and the monogram in the lower right corner of the tile stands for "The Rubicon Theatre Company" where the play "The Illustrated Man" will have 4 performances.

I have shown some close-up photos to give you an idea of the quality of the piece. We suspect all 50 tiles will be sold out rapidly, and are offering a few, maybe less than a few, online at this time. 8 of the 50 are taken, leaving 42 available tiles to be sold.

SHIPPING WILL BE AROUND THE FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER.. THE TILE COMES WITH WITH CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY.

EACH TILE WILL BE NUMBERED ON THE BACK PANEL. NO NUMBER IS SHOWN ON THE FRAMED TILE PICTURED.
