AMAZING STORIES MAGAZINE

April- May 1953

Contains the story "Here There By Tygers" Ray Bradbury
and has been Signed by The Iconic Master of Fantasy and Science Fiction

Signed boldly by the great author Ray Bradbury on page 81 where the classic short story (it was mentioned as a classic short story back in 1953 in this issue) Here There Be Tygers is located. This edition of Amazing Stories also contains stories by Robert Heinlein, Theodore Sturgeon, Richard Matheson, Murray Leinster, Ivar Jorgenson and H. L. Gold. Of course the cover story by Jack Lait and Lee Mortimer "Mars Confidential" is in the issue. The magazine is in very good condition and has 162 pages. The lower right corner of the first 50 pages has a slight bit of corner dampstain, not bad. There is a bit of lower spine end wear as shown. The spine imprint is good. Overall a very good copy which measures 5-1/8" x 7". The rear cover has a color painting of a space station with the title: "WILL THIS STEEL UMBRELLA STOP RUSSIA?" Typical Cold War propaganda finding its way clearly into science fiction of that day.

I personally presented this magazine to Ray Bradbury in 2007 for his signature in Lost Angeles, CA.

I will provide a Letter of Authenticity, signed by myself, for the authenticity of the signature.

NOW HEAR THIS...!!! The Phantom Bookshop is no Hunchback. It is, rather, the equivalent of Dracula saying "I bid you Velcome," or The Mummy going for a 'little walk." Or Baron von Frankenstein shouting, "It's alive!" Or King Kong falling off The Empire State Building and landing squarely, happily on us! Roll 'em all together and you got The Phantom Bookshop! Do you read me?-- RAY BRADBURY, 1995
