Bram Stoker DRACULA early G&D w/ DJ
SKU:
Phantoms.com
Dracula Bram Stoker 354 pages with 2 pages of ads, bright orange cloth lettered in black. In a very good dust jacket, colorful and in art deco style. This copy is most probably the first Grosset and Dunlap edition, which also predates the 1931 Bela Lugosi Photoplay edition. The front cover shows two huge eyes from a mysterious face overlooking a comatose woman in bed. The rear panel describes the New York play and stage theatre presentation. Printed on the verso is the publisher’s list of other titles offered for sale. Printed text on the inside flaps & spine reads “A Novel of Horror and Thrills”; and front with: “Was he beast, man, or vampire?...Most Sensational Mystery Novel of the Day!”
The book is near fine condition, in bright unsoiled orange cloth (which is extremely uncommon to encounter in this book). The hinges are unbroken, the book is square and tight. The dust jacket, as shown is very good with a small closed tear (you can see this mend in the third photo, upper right hand corner of photo) archivally mended with rice paper and a few other small closed edge tears professionally closed. Please see the photo. "Dracula" is one of the most influential works in the horror genre. A handsome book in a nice dust jacket as shown.
