Seascape painting by Ben Carre
A very nice painting of a French coastal area, probably of the Red Point Mareilles area. The building shown in the painting is a concrete war bunker from World War II.
The painting is oil on canvas board and is in excellent condition, signed in the lower right corner by Carre. The size of the painting, not including the gold frame, is 12" x 16".
The artist lived from 1883-1978 and was a scene painter for the Paris Opera House. He worked on many MGM films, including "The Jazz Singer." He was also a founding member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. Shipping is $35 within the continental USA.
