Marble Bust in Italian Marble, ca 1890

Here we have, as you can see from the photographs, a wonderful bust of a young girl, in a serene pose, done in Italian marble and signed in the back (please see the photograph) by the sculptor Gelindo. This sculpture was done in about 1890. I want you to notice the fine detailing on this work. The lace work on the bodice is superb, as shown. The edge of the marble at the top of the bodice is sharp and not chipped. Just amazing. The hair detail is wonderful, as shown.

This was obtained from an estate in Montecito, California. A charming signed, heavy work on a pedestal- this piece weighs in at about 250 pounds. It measures at the largest dimensions 24.5" x 13/5" x 9". Shipping on this is estimated at $300 and will have to be professionally crated. We can only ship to the USA using Plycon Shipping.
