The Cheshire Cat Giclée print -- from Alice in Wonderland
| | |
A high quality Giclée print from Chapter 6 of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" the caption reading:
' The Cat only grinned when it saw Alice...'
This print is a cropped and enlarged image of the Cheshire Cat only. The rest of the image showing Alice standing under the cat is not on the print. This had to be done to enlarge the cat and also to show the line detail, which is incredible. See the detail enlargement below...
This Giclée print was taken from the ORIGINAL WOODBLOCK ENGRAVING that was used in the first printing of this classic book done in the 1860's.
Just look at the detail of the the Cheshire Cat---detail that is not found in illustrations in the later editions of Alice in Wonderland. ...
The cat image on of the print measures 6" by 7" (the original wood block image is 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"). The detail is there. Printed on quality 8.5" x 11" archival stock paper. Archival ink.
This print comes with a Certificate of Assurance. I am a professional etcher and engraver and have taken care to provide a detailed image.
