Henry Miller THE SMILE AT THE FOOT OF THE LADDER, inscribed
SKU: G26
The Smile At The Foot of The Ladder
by Henry Miller
Henry Miller is considered by many people one of the great major
American authors of this century.
An author's association copy inscribed by Henry Miller to Edwin Corle,
dated in the year of the book's publication. First Japanese edition.
With an inscription to author Edwin Corle from Henry Miller:
"For Edwin Corle with illustrious gratification. Which language next?
Hebrew, perhaps. Henry Miller 11/13/54."
Included is the Japanese book seller's shipping label which has
Henry Miller's Big Sur, California address on it.
Tokyo, JAPAN (NIPPON) Publishers Association 1954.
Fine copy in fine dust wrapper. There is a little splitted along the sides to the clear glassine which covers the dust jacket and protects the yellow wrap around band, which usually is damaged or missing on copies when found.
This is a very attractive ray cloth bound book with the entire text in Japanese.
An uncommon edition inscribed. With neatly trimmed mailing label to Miller, Big Sur laid in. Some other promotional material is loosely inserted in to the book, please see photo.
(Shown are some photos. Inscription, title page, rear page of book, the Big Sur shipping label to Henry Miller, the promotional material, and a sample of the interior. )
Just a great book.
A great book to own by a major author to another well known and important author.
