Chico Goes to the Wars A Chronicle...1933-1943
David Ormsbee (pseudonym),
Stephen Longstreet
Published in New York by E. P. Dutton 1943.
Very good with out a dust jacket. This copy has a full page drawing of a man smoking a pipe sitting in front of an easel on the front fixed endpaper.
On the front free endpaper there is a full page inscription by Stephen Longstreet (the author of the book): 'Dear S: [drawing of a bird] This is a picture of the real world-one you will never see----but you stay up in the clouds-- Cordially Stephen Longstreet X 5 '58.'
Additionally Longstreet has crossed out the name of the David Ormsbee on the title page and written in under it: 'who is really Stephen Longstreet.'
A great inscription. A newspaper article is laid into the rear of the book, with some acidic offest to both rear and fixed endpapers. Not sure if this article pertains to the author or the book.
Illustrated by Stephen Longstreet.
1st Edition.
