VERY DESIRABLE BUDDY EBSEN ORIGINAL SIGNATURE on photo of him as The Tin Man of Oz from the 1939 Wizard of Oz film
I personally presented this fine photo to him for the signature in silver ink. This is an ORIGINAL signature, this is not a signature printed with the photograph. The photo is not a digital photo, but a real hand-developed photograph. The photo is a contemporty photo and is not from 1939.
Black and white 8x10 photograph of frontal view of Buddy Ebsen as the "Tin Man" in his brief role before his illness in the 1939 classic movie "The Wizard of Oz." This photo was taken from the original photo and is SIGNED by Ebsen in silver ink on the upper left quadrant area (black background). Mint. Only a few of these were printed and signed by Ebsen. Ebsen's role as the Tin Man lasted only 10 days, and footage was in fact shot. He was replaced by Jack Haley during his sickness (an allergic reaction to aluminum dust). Perhaps some of this footage with Ebsen was used in the movie release in long shots. (See Buddy Ebsen's "The Other Side of Oz" for a detailed explanation of the event- listed on this database under Phantom Bookshop). We do know that the singing by Ebsen going down the Yellow Brick Road was used in the sound track. This is a contemporarily printed photograph on glossy paper. Only a few are signed by Buddy Ebsen. I will provide a certificate of authenticity with this item
Photo shown is from one other I sold a while back, so signature will be a bit different,
I also maintain the Official Buddy Ebsen -
Thanks for looking,
