signed and inscribed by Edgar Rice Burroughs A very good copy in a Grosset and Dunlap dust jacket ( Madison Square issue from the 1940's). Book has some wear to binding, some very slight fading to the front board, some light waterstains (not bad) and a dampstain area in the lower right hand corner of the front free endpaper where Burroughs has inscribed and dated this book: "To Kenny May he grow up to be as swell a person as his dad Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzana, November 1 1939" This Grosset & Dunlap issue is the one issued without the frontis plate. A very desirable book with a good inscription to a young boy, who undoubtedly fell under the influence of this major fictionary character. Tarzan, and its author.
