Rare in jacket. Greatest Vampire Novel Written.
Dracula
Bram Stoker
The most famous vampire book in the world. 354 pages with 2 pages of ads, bright orange cloth lettered in black. In a very good dust jacket, colorful and in art deco style.
This copy is most probably the first Grosset and Dunlap edition, which also predates the 1931 Bela Lugosi Dracula Photoplay edition.
The front cover shows two huge eyes from a mysterious face overlooking a comatose woman in bed. The rear panel describes the New York play and stage theatre presentation. Printed on the verso is the publisher’s list of other titles offered for sale. Printed text on the inside flaps & spine reads “A Novel of Horror and Thrills”; and front with: “Was he beast, man, or vampire?...Most Sensational Mystery Novel of the Day!”
The book is in very good condition, in bright orange cloth. The hinges are unbroken, the book is square and tight. Small ownership name and date 4-17-29 at top of free endpaper, neatly done.
The dust jacket, as shown is very good with a bit of chipping at top of spine as shown and a few minor closed tears which looks like they were professionally closed at the top edges of the front and rear panel and at the edge of the upper left juncture of the spine and front panel. They are quite minor and nearly invisible. Front panel of the jacket is nice and bright with rubbing. Edge of the jacket is unworn. Back panel has minor soiling as shown. "Dracula" is one of the most influential works in the horror genre.
A handsome book in a nice dust jacket as shown.
