A Miniature Ship Etching by John Anthony Miller A small etching which was printed using the etching press (a time-honored hundreds of years old process) of a sailing ship. It was hand-printed off the copper plate some time ago. There was no photographic reduction here, the piece was etched on copperplate and then hand-printed and signed, titled and numbered as shown. The print went through two states in limited editions and at one were marketed by the finest maker of miniature furniture and accessories in the world. Miller mainly did his miniature work in the late 70's to the mid-80's. His work is prized and he done commissions for The Chicago Art Institute (7 replications of miniature work found in the Thorne Rooms collection, and a piece for The Chicago Science and Industry Museum (The Colleen Moore Doll House). His work is also held by celebrities and is in thousands of doll houses. Here are the dimensions" Overall the frame dimensions are: 3-3/4" x 3-1/4". The artwork image measures 1-1/2" x 1" - It is signed in pencil along the lower edged of the image by the artist: A/ss. "Victorian Clipper" John Anthony Miller, Imp.
