For those who prefer a little less bling, our V-Browband headstall is constructed from the same rope as our halters, and works great for long purchase bits, gags, and hackamores. Attaches and adjusts with the same latch knot as the halters. Comes with illustrated instructions on how to tie on the bit loops, how to tie the latch knot, and washing and care insructions, or you can visit our "Illustrated Insructions" page for a PDF printable. Bit not included with the set.
Mecate reins are made to be a versatile training tool. They loop easily into our slobber straps, traditionally as a fully adjustable loop rein and a lead rope which doubles a built in spanker to reinforce your go forward cue, and can be tucked into the rider's belt or daisy chained from the saddle horn. These 22' Mecate reins are perfect for training or trail riding, and everything in between. The rope is a 5/8" MFP double braided marine grade rope that offers a soft, live feel with lots of energy. The ends are professionally spliced and finished with Latigo Leather poppers. Available in your choice of black or tan rope, and Latigo (shown) or Harness Leather Slobber Straps, and come with instructions on how to attach to slobber straps and adjust. Two Spanish Ring Knots come with the set to trim the ends to match your headstall. You may consider adding additional ring knots to identify the "center" of your reins and your grip spots when teaching your horse how to give vertically, available separately in our "Hardware" section.
