Students in these classes work intensively to continue clarifying and more deeply integrate and strengthen their film scene work. Instructor Jill Wadsworth utilizes a variety of exercises to aid the actor in creating personal, truthful, organic and immediate moment-to-moment life with the material.
Scene preparation (with partners), object exercises (individual), and monologues are included in the course work, as well as improvisation, subtext, enhancing a vivid imagination in the work, developing concentration that strengthens the "world of the play." Students work on each assignment until they satisfy the objectives identified by the instructor. Required texts: AUDITION, by Michael Shurtleff and TRUTH, by Susan Batson. This class is limited to 12 students.
Scripts and scenes will be chosen for their application to the techniques of film acting: preparing the character, scene analysis, breathing, and emotional honesty and intensity. In-depth scene work allows the actor to focus on releasing creativity and to learn how to draw on inner resources under "real life" conditions.
