The museum's collection consists of nearly four million artifacts, some of which are the country's most important historic treasures. The general public is especially familiar with the Museum's permanent exhibitions on the history and culture of Canada's Aboriginal peoples, as well as its Canada Hall, which relates the country's evolution from the arrival of the first Europeans. The Museum also presents special exhibitions that explore other cultures and civilizations from the pas and present.
