About Charlie's Hobbies Charlie's Hobbies started out as a paper that was written for a marketing class in high school. I was in a club called DECA where I competed under the entrepreneurship participating independent business section with this paper. I found out a lot about starting businesses from writing this paper and from the remarks of the judges. In the paper I wanted to start out to big to fast, requiring more then a realistic amount of money. Three years after writing the paper, I had been working in internet sales for a hobby shop and finally realized this is how to start a new company. With $500 and a 5 year old idea Charlie's Hobbies was born in the summer of 2006. Now almost 2 years later we have sold over $120,000 worth of hobby products and have over 2,600 satisfied and repeat customers. A little after Thanksgiving our repeat customers receive Christmas cards and though the year we help out customers with shipping costs. Our company loves to hear when people are having fun with their Helicopters, Airplanes, Boats, Trucks and anything else that takes your mind off of work and reality for just a few minutes.
